Sourcing and supply

A simple way to compare supplier offers

Written by ChakulaAfya Editorial Team

A side-by-side comparison is only useful when each offer describes the same needs.

A lower price may not represent the same offer if product details, units, or delivery arrangements differ. Compare the parts of each offer before deciding what fits your business.

Start with the product specification

Write down the type, variety, grade, size, or condition you need. Check that each supplier is quoting against the same specification.

Use the same quantity and unit

Compare prices using a consistent unit and order quantity. Ask how the product will be packed or counted if that affects the amount you receive.

Include timing and handover

Check when the product is available, where it will be handed over, and whether collection or delivery changes the total arrangement.

Confirm the final terms

Before committing, confirm price, quantity, timing, and any additional arrangements directly with the supplier. Keep a written record that both sides can refer to.
